Our Classes

Sponge offers award-winning Spanish, Chinese (Mandarin & Cantonese), French, Japanese, Hindi, and German classes for kids in the greater Seattle area. Bring your newborn or toddlers and learn along with them. Drop off your older child to learn a language while having fun. Or bring our program to your child’s elementary school, so they can discover the world there.

Awards and Certification

We feel like we win awards every day when we hear a child say Ni hao or blow a beso to their teacher. We’re also grateful for the support and recognition of the press and the families in our community.

We have won Red Tricycle’s Totally Awesome Award for Best Language Classes 2013, 2012, and 2011. We have also won ParentMap’s 2017 Golden Teddy for Passport Ready Language or Art Class, the 2014 Golden Teddy for Best After-School and Enrichment Classes and the 2012 Golden Teddy for Best Infant and Toddler Classes. Seattle Metropolitan Magazine gave us their Critic’s Pick for Best Foreign Language Classes and Seattle Weekly awarded us Best Kiddie Language School.

Sponge is a certified Minority and Woman Owned Business Enterprise in the State of Washington.

All of our classes are designed to be engaging and effective. We think the best way to learn a language is to be immersed in it and having fun. That fun is age dependent—meaning peek-a-boo for the infants and drama and art for the big kids.

  • Teachers and class content ROCK. My kids enjoy the class and are learning! The program is fresh and current to how a language should be taught. The kids don’t even know they are learning 😉
